We are a full-service clinic providing medical and surgical services for dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and small ruminants. We emphasize life-long wellness and preventative care for all our patients.
Annual Wellness Exams and Vaccinations
Prevention is the best medicine! The examination room is where we become acquainted with you and your pet. We thoroughly evaluate your pet's overall health. We will recommend the appropriate vaccinations for your pet's age and lifestyle. We strongly encourage all our patients to stay on year-round heartworm and flea/tick prevention. We offer heartworm and intestinal parasite screening at every annual appointment. Our older patients are also encouraged to undergo routine annual bloodwork. If our vets identify any medical issue during your pet's exam, it will be immediately addressed and next steps as far as diagnostics or treatment will be recommended.
Spay and Neuter
We strongly advocate for spaying and neutering your pet. These surgeries are vital to controlling the total pet population, as well as helping to prevent certain health conditions and cancers. Our doctors are all extremely experienced in spay and neuter surgeries, and aim to make the experience as comfortable as possible for your pet (as well as for you, the owner). All patients are supported with pain medication before and IV fluids throughout their procedure. We adjust our protocol to each patient's unique requirements and believe in giving every pet the special attention they deserve. Your pet will be closely monitored during surgery and recovery by one of our staff members dedicated to their personal care. That staff member will call you with updates throughout the day as needed, and will go over your after-care instructions when you pick-up your fur baby! We strongly believe in comfort and pain management, and all pets will go home with pain medication post-procedure.
Senior Patients
Our older furry friends often have more health concerns and special needs than their younger counterparts. Some of the common age-associated conditions our doctors are on the look-out for in your older pet include arthritis, dental disease, thyroid conditions, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, and cognitive dysfunction. Because of this, we recommend all patients over the age of 8 visit the hospital for a bi-annual wellness exam, in the effort of catching any potential problems early. We also recommend annual bloodwork for all of our senior patients.
In-house Diagnostics
When your pet is sick or injured, they can't always tell us what is wrong on physical exam. Because of this, our clinic is pleased to offer the best in modern diagnostic tools. We have an in-house laboratory that analyzes blood, fecal, and urine samples, which enables to diagnose a variety of diseases, parasites, and infections quickly in office. In the case that our equipment is not equipped to run a specific test, samples may need to be sent to our outside reference laboratory. We also offer in-house imaging such as x-rays, ultrasound, and dental x-rays. Visualizing the inside of your pet can help us diagnose a variety of illnesses, including heart conditions, gastrointestinal issues, internal tumors, urinary stones, bone and joint problems, and reproductive concerns such as pyometra, as well as many others.
Soft-tissue Surgery
Our clinic is equipped with a modern surgery suite and our doctors are adept at a variety of soft-tissue surgeries, in addition to our spay and neuter services. We offer a variety of procedures to meet your pet's needs, including growth and tumor removal, hernia repair, cystotomy, enucleation, and gastric foreign body removal, among others.
We are now happy to offer a variety of orthopedic surgery options through our partner, Palmetto Veterinary Specialist, LLC. They are a referral-only, mobile specialty practice that will come service our patients in our own facility.
Dentistry
Your pet needs good dental healthcare just like you do! We put a strong emphasis on dental health and offer complete dental health services, including dental cleaning, x-rays, and extractions of broken or diseased teeth. Our doctors will examine your pets' teeth at every annual check-up and determine if any dental care is needed at that time. We also recommend and endorse at-home preventative care for dental disease, such as brushing, dental chews and treats, and water additives that can fight the build-up of tartar on our furry friends' teeth!
Pharmacy
We offer both a comprehensive in-house and online pharmacy to meet all of your pet's medication needs. We do require an up-to-date annual exam in order to dispense medication to your pet.
