Starting July 1, 2025, Poinsett Animal Hospital instated $10 annual external pharmacy processing fee for any prescription request filled outside our hospital or our online pharmacy. This new fee will apply to all brick-and-mortar pharmacies (Walgreens, CVS, etc), as well as online retailers (Chewy, Amazon, etc)
This fee covers the administrative time and resources required to review patient records, ensure prescription accuracy, and process the necessary documentation to meet state and federal regulations.
To avoid this fee, you are welcome to:
- Fill prescriptions directly through our hospital, or
- Use our convenient, veterinarian-approved online pharmacy hosted by Blue Rabbit, which offers home delivery, a comprehensive catalog of prescription medications, heartworm and flea prevention products, diets, and over-the-counter supplements, at competitive prices.
